ACE´s Environmental Policy communicates ACE´s commitment to conducting business in a manner that manages environmental issues responsibly.

Does ACE´s Environmental Policy extend to its suppliers and contractors?

ACE strives to ensure that suppliers agree to comply with environmental regulations. ACE communicates its environmental policy, practices and impacts to suppliers and contractors via a number of supply chain management tools.

Has ACE clearly identified and communicated specific responsibilities and accountabilities for ensuring effective environmental management?

ACE´s EMS Manual defines roles, responsibilities, and authorities of personnel who manage, perform, and verify work affecting environmental issues at ACE.

Have those employees, whose tasks can cause significant environmental impact, received appropriate training?

Personnel in job functions that have a potential to impact the environment receive appropriate education and training, and/or have previous experience to assist in the performance of their job.

How does ACE reduce the environmental impact of its business activities?

ACE uses an Environmental Management System (EMS) that meets all of the elements of the ISO 14001 Standard to reduce the potential environmental impact of its business activities. The EMS provides the framework for ACE to meet all applicable environmental regulations and achieve continual improvement in its environmental performance.

Yes, ACE maintains multiple client and user microsites that have FTP libraries directly accessible, and/or links to device driver download pages maintained by the component or subcomponent manufacturers.

Do ACE Products fall within the guidelines of Section 508?

Yes, Federal Regulation Section 508 Accessibility Requirements (summary):
Section 508 is a federal regulation that establishes general guidelines for IT products and services which federal agencies and departments develop, procure, maintain or use. Federal agencies were required to be in full compliance with the regulation by June 21, 2001. Section 508 establishes general technical standards for the following:

  • Computer Hardware
  • Software
  • Peripherals/Printers
  • Telecom Devices

  • Documentation

Ace Computers´ statement of Section 508 support:

Ace desktop and portable products appear to satisfy Section 508 requirements. Section 508 applies to end-user systems such as desktops and portables; server and storage products are currently exempt from the regulation. Set-up and service functions are outside normal and routine end-user operation and are also exempt from the regulation. For PC hardware, the following Section 508 criteria appear to be most applicable:
  • One-handed operation of controls and keys
  • Twisting, pinching, grasping require less than 5 pounds pressure
  • Controls and keys visually and tactilely discernible, including locking status
  • Industry standard ports and connectors
